It turns out in Eindhoven they have a whole week dedicated to weird music, unconventional instruments and bizarre sounds.
When you think about it’s not that strange because this is where the history of electronic music started in the Netherlands – in Philips labs in Eindhoven, more then a half century ago. Now a group of enthusiastic musicians/hackers has opened a Sound Lab Eindhoven – a place for designers, artists musicians and others alike, to meet, collaborate and work with (weird) sound. On my way there I thought it should feel like home, and indeed I did.
The evening was filled with great presentations and performances. I played with the ‘LightSeq’ and I think it was one of the best gigs I played with it so far. Below is a short video of the end of my set:
